une tempête !

Last night the wind came. It howled. Metal tables and chairs on the terrace shook and clanked. This morning it continued to blow, whirring and whistling. The trees outside my living room window are bending and waving. In order to make my way into town I had to lean into the wind, pausing periodically to find a way forward. Not une tempête comme Sandy that hit the east coast, but it does provide a surprising change from the clear days during the past week.

Notice the windsurfer. Even though many will avoid the Sea during a storm, it provides an opportunity for sports.
